Signed into legislation in 2018, the Future Ready Iowa Act is a workforce policy initiative that strives to ensure that 70 percent of Iowans achieve training or education beyond high school by 2025. Since the 2019-2020 school year, the statewide AEA system has been working to align a variety of initiatives connected to Future Ready, including but not limited to those established by Iowa Workforce Development, the Iowa Department of Education, and other key state agencies. Mississippi Bend AEA’s Future Ready Team has been part of a statewide effort to bring Future Ready learning to our area educators, with learning modules developed for understanding Future Ready outcomes (“how close are we to meeting the 70% goal?”), supporting the successful transition from PK-12 to career, and integrating work-based learning opportunities into classrooms.
Keep an eye out for more information coming from the MBAEA Future Ready Team!
