Iowa Science Learning Community
This year our learning and sharing will focus on feedback and collaboration in the science classroom. Our next session will take place on Tuesday, December 6th, and will investigate the question “How can feedback be used as part of the learning process?”. All sessions will take place from 4:00-5:30 pm via Zoom. Please complete this short Google form to register for the virtual sessions and to receive related resources. All are welcome to join one or all sessions!
Engaging Students in the Sensemaking Practices
In this course, participants will explore Sensemaking Practices: Developing and Using Models, Analyzing and Interpreting Data, and Constructing Explanations. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of these practices, connect to instructional strategies and protocols to support students as they engage in these practices, and practice implementing them through a Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle. This course begins November 29th. Click this link to learn more!
